Our intention for El Cuarenteño was to fill out our Med-Dark roast slot that is missing from our selection since running out of our Xico. Unfortunately, the coffee did not want to take on a darker roast quality. We lost so much of the flavor and quality that we had to pull it back to allow the coffee to shine through. Such is the beauty of roasting, we help bring the true nature of the coffee forward not the role it needs to fill. We are working to find a delicious coffee to fill our Med-Dark roast slot but for now El Cuarenteño will remain a Medium roast. By changing the roast to a Medium, the coffee now shines beautifully. Bringing forward delicious Hazelnut, rich Dried fruit, and exquisite Cacao nibs notes. Each sip offers a delightful experience that highlights the complexity and depth of flavors. We have been using El Cuarenteño at the shop as our cold brew option and it has been a hit! We receive so many compliments on the quality and richness, that it will be sad to see this one go (since this is a limited offer).
