Talavera Coffee was founded in 2022 by Zach and Joanna Steele with one simple belief: every cup of coffee should tell a story and be crafted with intention. For Zach, that story began long before Talavera Coffee existed. As a veteran, he had the opportunity to travel around the world, discovering the unique coffee traditions of different cultures. Every stop introduced him to new flavors, brewing methods, and the people behind the coffee. Those experiences sparked a lifelong passion for exceptional coffee and a desire to bring that same level of quality home. In 2021, Zach stepped into the world of professional coffee roasting as a production roaster and quickly fell in love with the craft. Roasting became more than a job—it became a pursuit of excellence. Today, he continues to study, experiment, and refine every roast profile, believing that every coffee deserves to express its fullest potential. His dedication has earned recognition through multiple coffee awards, but his greatest motivation is always creating a better cup than the one before. Joanna brings a different, yet equally important, perspective to Talavera Coffee. With a background in business administration and a lifelong passion for art and design, she has shaped the heart and personality of our brand. Every label, illustration, website graphic, and product design is thoughtfully created by her, reflecting the warmth, culture, and creativity that define Talavera Coffee.
